As we near 2020, change has come across the developmental disabilities industry, as well as Scioto Properties:
In 2019 the retirement of our President/CEO, Mary Bea Eaton was announced. Mary Bea made Scioto what it is today. Without her passion to serve, Scioto would not have become the nationwide leader in our industry. We saw tremendous success under her leadership and are taking that success to build upon as we move into our next chapter as a company.
I am extremely proud of the fact that Scioto has continued to grow and now has over 1,700 properties in 41 states. It’s amazing to think of the thousands of individuals that receive numerous supports and services in the properties that we own. As much as we are a real estate company, in many ways we also feel like a health care partner because of the supports and value-added services Scioto offers to the providers that we work with.
We have unfortunately seen providers go out of business, have regulatory compliance and/or financial issues and many others struggling to stay on top of the ever-changing climate of the healthcare industry. Scioto will help to overcome the challenges that we all face by continuing to help be a part of the solution to those we support. We are constantly trying to find ways to help providers and will continue to do that. When providers are successful, Scioto is successful and when we are all successful the chance of making a greater impact on the lives of those being served considerably increases.
In early 2020 you will see a rebranded Scioto. We have a new logo, mission and vision that we are excited to share. These changes will reflect our identity in also supporting providers in the Behavioral Health, Adult Day Services, and Substance Abuse industries, while staying true to the developmental disabilities industry that we have always supported and will continue to support in new and exciting ways.
The landscape of healthcare is changing daily, and Scioto is committed to developing and investing in real estate with impact. We are a Mission driven company and we acquire real estate that makes a difference in the lives of those receiving services within the properties that we own. We have some pretty lofty goals over the next year. We are the premier real estate provider in the developmental disabilities’ real estate market, but we want to be the premier provider of real estate with impact that reaches other populations as well.
To support providers with their diversification and growth goals, Scioto continues to offer real estate financing for acquisitions, creative finance structures and cost-effective new construction solutions and are ready to collaborate with you and your team to tackle real estate and industry challenges in 2020. We welcome the opportunity to work together with you and your staff to creatively provide real estate solutions for your organization and the people you support.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our employees, providers, partners, investors, and people we support throughout the United States who made 2019 another fantastic year for Scioto. I am proud of our accomplishments together and very grateful to our customers across the nation.
If at any time I can offer further assistance or you would like to sit down and talk about your real estate needs and the value-added services that we can provide with being your real estate partner, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
On behalf of our entire Scioto team, we wish you a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year!
