The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) is an international human rights treaty of the United Nations intended to protect the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities. To date, 138 countries have ratified the treaty; however, the United States is not one of them. U.S. support would reinforce American leadership in disability rights and encourage adoption of the CRPD by more nations.
