Issue 22 is a replacement levy for Developmental Disabilities on the Ohio ballot for the upcoming election November 8, 2012. The money raised by this levy will help children and adults with developmental disabilities maintain the basic services they require. Programs at risk if Issue 22 does not pass include Adult and Child Behavioral Support, Dual Diagnosis Clinics, Early Intervention and Early Childhood Education Programs as well as the Next Chapter Book Clubs. The money raised will also go towards the operation of supported living, job and home-based training and transportation.
Many of the 16,000 children and adults served by The Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities have either physical or mental disabilities. The extra support helps children with developmental disabilities grow into self-reliant adults and enables adults to be productive, active members of the community.
The current levy will expire in 2012 and if passed Issue 22 will replace it with the same amount of millage.
