Knowledge Center

The Scioto Knowledge Center is an active resource designed and developed by the Scioto team. These tips, tools and techniques are industry specific, and will serve as a resource, a quick print, a hang-up, or a quick guide to navigating steps to a successful home placement, or simple useful reminders for our industry. People First Language is an imperative chart that we should print and follow. The Safer Homes section features a monthly “hang-up”, designed to enable our homeowners with tips and tools to keeping their homes safe. These monthly tips are seasonal, and could easily be posted throughout your group homes as consistent reminders of group home safety. The Care Providers FAQ offers industry tips on how to best work together. Check back often as our Knowledge Center becomes populated with informative and useful data, all formulated to help you, our customers, to stay current and knowledgeable in our industry.

Who are the so-called “handicapped” or “disabled”? Scioto wants you to begin to understand the People First Language, as the individuals who occupy our homes are in fact, people. They are Moms and Dads, Sons and Daughters, Leaders and Followers….they are people first. Click through to our people first chart for an easy-to-follow language table. Safer Homes

As our residents become true homeowners, Scioto would like to offer monthly Hang-Up tips to keep our houses (your residence) safe. These monthly Hang-Up tips can be posted on the main floor of all our homes, reminding everyone about seasonal safety tips and general maintenance tips.
