Tony Andronaco and Rob Holt of risk management firm DataRisk recently attended the American Network of Community Options and Resources (ANCOR) meeting held at the Gaylord National Hotel in Maryland. The meeting brought together representatives of human services organizations from all over the country focused on three major themes including leadership, advocacy and innovation.
According to Mr. Andronaco, “this was as great opportunity for us to meet so many wonderful people serving in the human services field. It also gave us a chance to showcase our risk management capabilities.”
The human services sector, particularly those organizations dedicated to assisting people with special needs is often under-served by the standard, process driven insurance brokerage community, according to Andronaco.
“Our expertise lies in not simply selling insurance,” Mr. Andronaco said. “But in crafting the best possible overall program to help our clients manage risk and reduce cost. We understand the mission of ANCOR members is to help others, which is why we make it our mission to help them. Every dollar we save a client through our risk management and cost containment measures is a dollar that can go to programming or DSP wages, which is a huge help to these firms.”
Tony Andronaco, ARM, CPCU is vice president and CFO, and heads the human services division for DataRisk. He is also a former director of corporate risk & insurance for a large multi-state human services organization.
ANCOR is a nonprofit trade association representing and advocating on behalf of the more than 800 private providers of services and supports for nearly 500,000 Americans with disabilities that employ over 400,000 direct support staff in 49 states and Washington, D.C.
