The Arc of the United States is establishing a resource and information center on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Last fall the Administration on Developmental Disabilities (ADD) within the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) at the United States Department of Health and Human Services announced that it would be awarding $1.87 million for the creation of a National Autism Resource and Information Center. The Center will provide resources and information on community-based services and interventions for people with ASD and their families. Connecting these individuals to the much-needed activities and resources should increase independence and promote inclusion in the community. To better facilitate the process, The Arc will implement an initiative that brings disability organizations and university centers together to deliver relevant resources and information.
The Arc is the nation’s largest volunteer-based non-profit organization supporting the advocacy and service needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
